*These are all updates I've heard about in the past month*
St. George area:
The Advenire Autograph Collection Marriott Hotel & Wood Ash Rye Restaurant- now open on the corner of Main St. and St. George Blvd! It's turned out incredible and will be a huge cornerstone for downtown going forward. Wood Ash Rye is open for breakfast, lunch, and dinner with a full service bar and bakery. Zion BreweryStation II- now open! Located in the old fire station across from Ancestor Square on Main St.
Havana Cabana food truck- they will now be open daily behind Zion Brewery! You can take your food inside the brewery if you'd like, or sit out back. They are open from 4-10 pm at this point but could expand their hours to lunch.
Slurpin Ramen & Kabuto Sushi- now open in the Promenade at Red Cliffs!
Cheesecake Culture- a new cheesecake bakery is now open at the Promenade at Red Cliffs next to Cold Stone! Check out their instagram for cheesecake options @cheesecake_culture
Utah Pressed Juice- they're also under construction next to Cheesecake Culture and Cold Stone at the Promenade at Red Cliffs! Check out their instagram for more info and updates @utahpressedjuice. Should be open around January 17th!
First Watch- The Egg & I has officially converted over to First Watch and its open! They are located at Sunset Corner next to Stadium 8 theater.
Maverik- the new Maverik on Sunset Blvd. across from Home Depot is officially underway. Vertical construction should begin soon!
Kmart Complex- the entire complex is going to get a complete external makeover and the word is that they're going to tear down the empty bank to bring in more buildings and a play area for kids. I don't have anymore info at this point but I will update as I learn more.
Smash Labs Rage Rooms- now open! They are located off Bluff St. in the complex behind Jimmy John's. Their address is 175 W. 900 S. Ste #12. Check out their website for more infohttps://www.smashlabs.biz/aboutus
Bahama Bucks- dirt is moving and construction is underway on the corner of Riverside Dr. and Mall Dr! Should be open in the next few months. Fore more info check out their website https://www.bahamabucks.com/
F45 training gym- a new training gym is under construction at 446 S. Mall Dr! Should be open soon and this will be the first of a few locations throughout town. Check out their website for more info https://f45training.com/stgeorgeeast/home
The Children's Vision Center- the first ever child vision therapy clinic will open sometime this year! They will ber located at 1490 E. Foremaster Dr. in the Coral Desert building.
Paparazzi- they are building a 100,000 sq. ft. warehouse to expand their operation off exit 2. They poured the concrete all in one night and it was the biggest single pour of concrete in the history of Utah! Paparazzi has become a huge part of Southern Utah and this will add to their impact.
Park Place at SunRiver Commons- the second building is under construction just off exit 2 and will be 24,000 sq ft! The main occupant will be Western Rock and they are still looking for tenants for the other floors.
Mesa Medical- the newest medical building behind the hospital is almost complete and will be 28,000 sq ft! So far Valley Women's Health and Dr. Lunt & Kvartfordt have confirmed going in there with others soon to follow.
Art Factor- just opened on 1361 Red Hills Pkwy! They have beginner to professional art supplies, classes, and paint nights. For more info check out their website https://artfactorandcompany.com/
Marriott Springhill Suites- now open! It's turned out really cool and has some awesome views. It's located right off exit 10 in front of Green Spring.
Marriott Residence Inn- now that the Springhill is finished, the Residence Inn next door is underway! I don't have an exact timeline but should be open later this year. Crazy transformation for the north side of exit 10!
Primrose Retirement Community- 101,000 sq ft facility that will go in out by Warner Valley right off exit 10 of SR-7. It will feature independent living, assisted living, and memory care units. Construction is underway!
Mountain America Credit Union- they are in the works of building a 3 story office building near Texas Roadhouse. I don't have anymore info than that but it is on its way. I'll post more info as I get it.
Santa Clara/Ivins area:
Tuacahn- housing for the actors is under construction and will be completed soon. The word is that it could be used for nightly rentals during the off season. Stay tuned for more info!
Tropical Smoothie- now open off State st. at 32 S 1350 W!
Peruvian Flavors- new Peruvian restaurant that just opened at 68 W State St.

St. George area
Exit 2 (Sun River): Desert Color- A big shopping complex along with a sports complex, hotels, and 11,000 homes are on their way just off exit 2 as you come into town. Construction on phase 1 of the residential section is now underway! Paparazzi headquarters- the main building is open and now they are under construction on their 100,000 sq ft warehouse!
Kenworth Truck Sales Company- Open! It is just west of the Paparazzi building along the freeway, north of the overpass.
Desert Corner- exciting news for people that live in the Desert Canyons development out by the airport. The first commercial spot is starting to happen at the entrance of the neighborhood, just off the freeway exit. It will be a building similar to those at Desert Hills Plaza and are looking to fill it with food and drink options. Big time news for this area!
Exit 4 (Bloomington):
Desert Hills Plaza-in front of Desert Hills High School
Commerce Pointe- corner of Buff St. and Blackridge Dr.
Big box & mid box stores, restaurants, and shops on their way.
Tech Ridge- old airport hill
Dixie Tech School
Printer Logic- construction has gone vertical! Expected to be finished last summer or early fall. It's 60,000 sq ft and includes an 11,000 sq ft indoor basketball court that will also be an auditorium.
Busy Busy- located in the old hangar and their building is coming soon.
There are rumors that there is a growing list of interested companies that will follow suit.
There will be multi family housing built soon after, along with a paved walking path around the entire bluff.
City View downtown development- corner of Main St. and St George Blvd.
luxury apartments with retail on the bottom floor, along with a big parking garage- building 1 is now open and building 2 is just about finished!
Marriott Signature Hotel the "Advenire"- now open!
Joule Plaza- corner of Tabernacle St. and 200 West
197 luxury apartments with a pool, spa, work out center, and more, along with 19,000 sq ft of retail/office space.
People are now moving in to the apartments! There are leases in place for the office/retail space and will be coming soon.
Ancestor Square- corner of St. George Blvd. and Main St.
Feellove Coffee- their second location is currently under construction in Ancestor Square next to the Pizza Factory where Sentierre used to be. It will be a great addition to downtown!
Orsini- the latest downtown multi-use project is officially underway! Demolition and ground work just started for a new commercial building that'll feature 22 apartments and 4,000 sq ft of retail/office space. It'll be finished sometime in 2020. Stay tuned for updates!
Zion Brewery Station II- the old fire station on Main St. is being converted into a brewery and pub by Zion Brewing Company. This should be really cool for downtown as it continues to grow and expand! For more info check out this article https://www.sltrib.com/news/2019/08/28/st-george-getting-stand/ Mystery Restaurant- the old Burger King building on St. George Blvd. is currently being worked on and there's a sign out front with some ribs on it that says "It'll be worth the wait". Not sure what's happening yet but should be something good! Virgin Berri turned Gaia's Garden- exciting news for my favorite food truck restaurant in town! They are moving to a permanent brick-n-mortar building on 700 S. where Redman Farms Health Foods store used to be, kiddie corner from Arby's. They're also changing their name and will be adding some cool stuff to their menu. They are working on the building right now and are hoping to be open sometime at the beginning of 2020. Stay tuned! Encircle- they have chosen a location in downtown St. George and plan to be open at the beginning of 2020! It is located on the corner of 100 E. and 200 E. Super Pollo Chicken- this food truck turned restaurant is currently under construction in the old Casa Dona Maria building on 700 S. next to Honolul Grill! Their plan is to be open in the next 2 months.
Southern Utah Planetarium- an idea for this is gaining momentum and could be a possibility down the road that would be really cool! New art downtown- if you haven't noticed already, there are a bunch of new cool art features throughout downtown. Check out the map in this link for more info https://artaroundthecorner.org/map/
Washington County Building- The Assessor/Recorders office is under construction on the corner of St. George Blvd. and 200 E. The outside is undergoing a full remodel and there will be landscape added on the east side as well.
Bluff St. Retail Building- new signs are up for a complex that will begin construction soon on Bluff St. where they tore down the older building and widened the road. No news on what's going there yet but stay tuned for updates!
University Federal Credit Union- signs are up for a new credit union that is planning to go under construction. It will be on the corner of Bluff St. and 400 N. Their plan is to be open next summer!
West Village- Affogato West Coffee Shop has taken over the whole space where Unicorn Hatch Labs and has turned it into West Village. It'll now feature Sugar & Soul Bakery, Tiny Mary's Restaurant & Bar, Crazy Eddie's Comedy and Music Club, Pier28 Clothing & Accessories, West Village Merc, a farmer's market every Wednesday night, and a featured local artist of the month tent. It sounds like it'll be a super cool place to hang out at and will be coming together over the next few months!
Howie's Gas Station- the gas station next to Swig on the corner of 300 W. and St. George Blvd. is going to open back up! It's currently under construction and should be open soon.
Breathe of St. George- the first ever Halotherapy "salt spa" opened downtown at 310 E. Tabernacle St. across from Cache Valley Bank. For more info check out their website https://www.breatheofstgeorge.com/
Dixie Dr: Henriksen Butler- their new 22,500 square ft. building is finished and now open off Dixie Dr. near Tonaquint. It features a 5,000 sq ft show room with 2,500 sq ft of office space, and 15,000 warehouse. Both HB Flooring Solutions and HB Design Group are in the facility. Riverwoods Mill- this building will be in the same complex as Henriksen Butler right next door and will be the second one open. It'll also feature a showroom, offices, and a cabinet shop. More info to follow soon! Legacy Village of St. George-a new sign just went up along Dixie Dr. for a new independent living senior citizen facility. I don't have any information yet but should have some soon. Dixie Dr. Development- dirt is moving on 90 acres along Dixie Dr. across from Star Nursery that could be a big addition for the Green Valley area. It is planned for commercial and residential but is for sale, so nothing is confirmed yet. I'll keep posted on this and give updates as I hear more. Divario Community-HUGE development underway in the west hills beyond Sunbrook Golf Course. It will feature all kinds of residential housing along with commercial and much more. Sunset Blvd: Sloth Cookies- Now open! It's right under The Crepery at Sunset Corner on the corner of Bluff St. and Sunset Blvd. Check out their instagram @slothcookies for cookie options. Maverik- another Maverik is set to go under construction across Sunset Blvd. from Home Depot. Dirt's moving and it should go under construction soon!
Exit 8 (St. George Blvd.):
Sakura- a new Sakura is in the works behind Bracken’s auto and next to Desert Coach RV. It will feature 20 dine in tables, 12 hibachi stations, a banquet room, sushi bar and a full bar, with underground parking. Construction should begin soon!
Zupas- They are taking over the old Brick Oven building on the corner of St. George Blvd. and River Rd. The long awaited construction should start soon and news is that it will feature a drive thru window and will be the first Zupas to ever have one.
Promenade at Red Cliffs:
Pho Vietnamese Restaurant- now open!
Kabuto Sushi and Slurpin Ramen Bar- new restaurant going in next to Durangos! It it currently under construction and should be open soon.
River Rd: Boulder Creek Crossing- Construction is underway on Phase 2 behind Popeyes on the corner of 1450 S. and River Rd. and there will be 3 buildings! One is a 2 story 15,000 sq ft professional office and retail building, the second is a drive thru, and the third is a 40,000 sq ft mid box. It'll be going up over the next few months and once I get more information i'll update you. Red Rock Commons:
Teriyaki Madness- another new restaurant is coming next to Pieology! It is currently under construction and should be open soon. Check out their menu at teriyakimadness.com
River Rose Crossing- Signs are up next to Summit on the corner of 1450 S. and River Rd! Rose Development has taken over and the plan looks awesome. New restaurants along with a hotel and movie theater, and high end retail and office space should start happening soon! Mesa Medical- new building behind Lowe's. Will start filling up soon! Little Valley:
Ventana Ridge- corner of S. River Rd. and 2450 S.
I don’t have confirmation of anything at this point other than it will be residential AND commercial. Should be an exciting addition to Little Valley!
Crimson Corner- corner of 3000 E. and Crimson Ridge Dr. in Little Valley
Retail complex that has 8 retail spaces. Roads are paved and construction on the first building is underway!
The first building will feature a café, bakery, and an ice cream creamery that will supposedly have BYU and/or Utah state creamery ice cream. Construction is underway!
The park across the street is finished!
New fire/police station- will be located in Little Valley on the south end of Meadow Valley Farms. Construction timeframe unknown but should begin soon.
Riverside and Mall Dr. Corner:
Dinosaur Crossing- fully occupied!
Taylor Andrews Hair Academy- now open! Bahama Bucks- this will be going in across Riverside Dr. from Maverik where Dinosaur Crossing is. There is more space in the building they will be in that should have some other type of restaurant locked down soon as well. Stay tuned!
Red Cliffs Mall: Uprise Adventure Park- a new family entertainment center is going into the old Sears building in the Red Cliffs Mall! It'll feature all kinds of attractions for all ages including a trampoline zone, trapeze, zipline, climbing structures, glow ninja course, topgolf swing suites, fitness classes, motion experiences, virtual reality simulators, and more. They're hoping to be open next spring!
Middleton: (across freeway from the mall) Twin Lakes Commercial Plaza- dirt is moving and pads are available for this brand new commercial plaza across the freeway from Red Cliffs Mall! Potential uses include retail center, hotel, bank or financial institution, office buildings, and restaurants. Stay tuned for more updates!
Fort Pearce Industrial: K + A Auto Care- this new automotive care center just had their ground opening and is now open at 296 N. Industrial Road! Go check them out. Stuart Awning & BBQ Hut- just broke ground on a brand new facility located at the corner of Enterprise Dr. and River Rd. in the Fort Pierce Industrial Park. Construction will begin soon and should be complete by the end of February next year.
2 Marriott hotels- going in behind the Chevron in front of Green Springs. Springhill Suites is the first one, and is now open! The second one, a Residence Inn, is now underway. Stay tuned for more news! Contact Climbing Gym- They just broke ground last month! It is expected to be 18,000 square feet with 50-foot climbing walls and 12,000 square feet of roped climbing walls. The gym will also include 3,000 square feet of bouldering with 14-foot walls, a yoga and fitness studio and cardio and weight room. It's being built just behind Costco and their plan is to be open in the spring! Splash City Adventure Park- The years and decades long wait for a water park is over! It is officially underway and their plan is to be open for Summer 2020. Blaze Pizza- nothing confirmed yet but I have heard rumors that Blaze Pizza is looking at moving into where Payless used to be on Telegraph in the same complex as Vapor Works and Rumbi's. I will confirm once I know more.
RV Park- the new RV park that is being built off exit 13 is now open! There will be 80 spaces for short term tenant RVs. The amenities are still under construction and will include a pool and showers as well.
Grapevine Crossing- There hasn’t been any movement yet but there will be in the near future. There will be an amphitheater, park, and museum along with retail shops and restaurants. There is space for 7 sit-down restaurants and 7 drive-thrus, along with 137 tenant spaces including some exciting new Big Box stores. More will be known in the next few months. Ovation by Avamere- a new senior living community is underway on Washington Pkwy that will be a big addition for Washington. They will have 60 memory care units, 90 assisted living units and 150 independent living units. For more info check out this article. They are going to have 3 restaurants open to the public and they'll be called 1861, Miller's at Washington, and Bees Knees Bistro. 1861 will be fine dining, Miller's will be an everyday dining restaurant, and Bees Knees is a full service bistro that will serve Starbucks. Best Western Plus- another hotel is about to get started off exit 13! Best Western Plus plans to start construction late December or early January, and will be across the street from Black Bear Diner, alongside the Terrible's gas station. Canyons Park and Hell Hole Trailhead at Sienna Hills- brand new park just opened at the corner of Telegraph and Washington Parkway. It has a Ninja Warrior-style obstacle course and some other unique features. New retail/restaurant building- signs are up and so far Pizza Hut and Tropical Smoothie have been confirmed, with 3 other spots to fill. Construction is moving!
Revere Health- a new 68,000 square ft multi-specialty center is under construction and will be huge for health care in Southern Utah. It is going just north of the Lin’s and should be completed in 2020.
Heritage Fields- A new project in the Fields just got approved and will begin soon! Lots of new housing and a3.5 acre commercial piece will be going in on the corner of Washington Fields Road and 2000 South. Canyon Crossing- Initial plans are underway for a new commercial development on the corner of Snow Canyon Parkway and Snow Canyon Drive! The project will include a five-pump gas station, office, 3 restaurants and seven retail shops. Nothing is finalized yet but so far everything complies with the city and things are moving along. The Haven at Sky Mountain- Assisted Living and Memory Care Community is now open directly behind the new Clarion Inn & Suites on State St.

Rooster Run Cafe- a new restaurant just went under construction today! It is in theold JB's building on State St. and it is going be a good one! It's a family-run, american style diner with breakfast served all day. They're remodeling the entire building and are hoping to be open in December. I'll keep you posted when it gets closer to opening. The Dwellings- this new resort is under construction in La Verkin right next to River Rock Roasting Co. along the cliff. Kolob Commercial Center- a new commercial development just got approved to move forward that is right off I-15 across from the Kolob Canyons entry into Zion National Park. It's set to include a hotel, a convenience store/gas station, restaurants and a RV park/camp site facility, according the project’s concept development plan. Stay tuned for more updates!
