Dixie State University Welcomes LargestFreshman Class In Its History

ST GEORGE, Utah - A sense of excitement ushered in Dixie State University’s first day of school Monday, when the institution welcomed its biggest class of incoming freshmen in the institution’s history.

Described by some as an air of celebration, the energy associated with a large class was palpable as students hurried from class to class, became reacquainted with friends and professors, and prepared for another semester of active learning experiences. Joining this year’s returning students, approximately 2,300 first-year freshmen registered for classes for the Fall 2016 semester, which amounts to some 400 more new freshman students than seen before at Dixie.

September Time of Harvest

This is a good time to talk about Harvesting solar energy!

Many home and business owners are turning to the sun’s rays, a renewable and free energy source. Not only does it reduce their monthly utility expenses, it stops rising energy costs. It makes the building more marketable. Solar will provide pollution free energy.

Solar power is an abundant renewable source

Energy remains one of the world’s great challenges. Growing concerns about limited fossil fuel resources and the accumulation of CO2 in the atmosphere from burning those fuels have stimulated tremendous academic and industrial interest. Researchers are focusing both on developing inexpensive renewable energy resources and on improving the technologies for energy conversion.

Solar energy has the capacity to meet increasing global energy needs. Harvesting energy directly from sunlight using photovoltaic technology significantly reduces atmospheric emissions, avoiding the detrimental effects of these gases on the environment.
